Objective
ARCHUtah.com was formed in an effort to create
a resource where students, professionals, and design enthusiasts
can exchange information and ideas.
An overview:
Built
A growing collection
of significant built projects in Utah that can be organized
by place, firm, project type, and date of completion. Project descriptions
include photos, design concepts, awards received, and location.
Studied
Due to the nature
of the educational process and environment, students are often
at the forefront of architectural innovation and theory. We have dedicated
a section of ARCHUtah to showcase projects that are not built,
but perhaps should be.
Links
To all things architecture
in Utah. We
have compiled a list of architecture firms with their contact
information including links to their websites, as well as a
list of former students from Utah with portfolio websites. You will
also find links to other organizations working to better Utah's
built environment.
Forum
An online community designed to create
an open dialogue between students, professionals, and design enthusiasts.
By asking questions, offering criticism, and passing on expertise,
we can create a stronger spirit of collaboration and improve architecture's
influence in our community.
News
Important projects are shaping our
built environment, for better
or for worse. We follow newspaper, magazine, and online
articles, searching for architecture related news in Utah and
link to those articles. We provide one source for
all Utah architecture news. Current article headlines
are also displayed in the site's header.
ARCHUtah.com e-mail
School emails end when you graduate,
work emails change, and generic emails are...well...generic.
We offer FREE personalized email accounts with an @archutah.com
address. This will enable students and interns to have an unchanging
email and allow working
professionals to have an architecture related email address with
ample storage space.
ARCHNews
A monthly email containing a list of all new content added
to the site, including built and studied projects, links,
and recent news articles.
Submissions
ARCHUtah.com content
is dependant on user submitted articles, projects, and discussion. We
have included a submissions page with easy-to-follow instructions
so that anyone can suggest content to be added to
the site.
It is our goal that this site will help bridge
the gap between architecture students, design professionals,
and design enthusiasts through dialogue and critical examination of
the environment.
